Emer’s Story On Quitting Cigarettes…. Week 3
| I am 2 weeks off the smokes (cold turkey for the first time), I have always used Nicotine replacement products in the past eg Nicorette Inhaler and I came to rely on them also…
Im finding it easy enough, but Im still waking up nearly every hour on the hour, and some morning I do be sweating… I wonder is this normal.. I really dont want ot smoke this time but I just want to know, when do you get past the ‘empty’ feeling you have and when does the thoughts of smoking stop. I dont miss them, I just miss the action associated with smoking. As a single parent I suppose they (stupid as it sounds) were like a friend/ my reward for doing a good job… I suppose I just am a bit lost at the min. |












Well Folks,
I am now starting my 4th week off Cigarettes without any Nicotine replacement products. Im not saying they dont work for people Im just chuffed that Ive gone this long (cold turkey) and know that Im getting any Nicotine in my system. I have a ad a few ‘oh god’ moments like on a friday when I finished work and my first thought was a cig and then I remembered that I couldnt and I actually felt slightly down, but I knew it would pass, and went food shopping and it did pass.. Im chuffed I got through the weekend again without smoking…
Good luck to everyone giving up. I was a 20 pack a day smoker, sometimes more..I used to set my alarm clock at 7.30am so I could have a coffee and about 4 cigs before getting my daughters lunch ready for school (mental, I know)..and then proceed to ‘reward’ myself for nearly every thing I did to have a cig… I know everyone says it but after 23yrs of smoking, If I can do it, seriously ‘ANYONE’ can..

Gave them up 1 week ago..8th day today. You can do it.
I was a single Mom and used to feel the same way when I quit back then. Took me a few tries and was off for 9 years. Started up again about 8 years ago. quit for another yr. in between. Once you stop don’t tell yourself you can have just one cause you’ll be off and running again. I use nicorette and ecigs in between to a minimum and they help A LOT!!!
Do it for your health in the future cause as you get older they effect you even worse. Who wants to die a miserable death if you can help prevent it. Good luck!
